Tegnologiese ontwikkeling verbeter lewensomstandighede by die dag.

Psychology Education (PTY) LTD focus on the claims of parenting in today's quick changing circumstances.

One first only realises how circumstances change when parents compare their children’s childhood to their own. Parents of today hardly knew computers and cell phones as children, while today, new technologies and the internet brings incredible knowledge into their children’s lives.

Technological developments improves living conditions daily. Children develop and grow much faster. Most parents are in a position to offer their children more than they had as children themselves. However, this lays even bigger demands on parents’ shoulders.

Nevertheless, the basic principles of education remain the same. Basic needs remain the same. It should, however, be adapted to a contemporary, fast-developing world. Parents are so much more occupied with vocational, social and other demands of life that their time needs to be managed more economically.

The circumstances under which children are currently growing up are getting more complex and demanding every day. Support and support systems are an ancient principle that should be applied.

Herv.

For most of his career, Jan Oberholzer has been involved in the upbringing, education and care

of children. He headed the Jac van Belkum Children’s Home and then managed child care of the Dutch Reformed Church.

The multi-professional team approach was utilised as a more complete and broadened resource to identify and address the causes of problems. He was in close collaboration with schools as well.

Since retirement, he has been working on an ad hoc basis with families with problems and started working, by request, on a series of books under the theme Parenting in Practice. The publication Practical parenting is the first in the above-mentioned series.

He has obtained the following degrees at the North West University:

Ph.D. (Educational Psychology) with research on support for teachers who experience work stress.

M.Ed. (School guidance) with research on the relationship between personality and attitude to study.

B.Ed. (Orthopedagogy) with research on the connection between home religion and progress at school.

Ouerskap in Praktyk

Practical Parenting

This book attempts to accommodate the questions parents ask.

The purpose of this book series is to walk a distance with parents and their children – to see these children develop into responsible and assertive citizens. Application of this content should simplify the task of raising children.
